St. Paul’s has had a long and prosperous history in Colorado Springs. Beginning in 1890 with a borrowed Salvation Army tent erected near a slaughter house on E. Mill Street and 18 people, St. Paul’s has grown to our current location and a membership of over 700. Our most recent facility change has been the renovation of our Sanctuary providing new opportunities for ministry outreach.

John Wesley  was the founder of United Methodism and according to him; “A Methodist is one who lives according to the method laid down in the Bible. He is one who loves the Lord with all his heart, who prays without ceasing and in everything gives thanks. His heart is full of love to all mankind, and is purified from envy, malice, wrath, and every unkind affection.

He keeps all God’s commandments from the least unto the greatest. He follows not the customs of the world. He cannot speak evil of his neighbor any more than he can lie. He does good unto all men, neighbors, friends, and enemies.

These are the principals and practices of our sect. These are the marks of a true Methodist. By these alone do Methodists desire to be distinguished from other men.”

In keeping with our heritage and tradition, St. Paul’s serves Jesus by creating a place where people just like you can see His light, receive His light and share His light with people near and far.

We see His love by inviting people to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and then to discover and follow the path for their life that He has set before them. This is a central theme in our Sunday morning worship service. The service is Christ centered, Biblically based and culturally relevant.

We receive His love by teaching followers to become disciples (students) of Jesus. This happens on Sunday mornings and throughout the week in a variety of small group classes and interactions. People learn more about themselves and find support to use their gifts for service during these times together.

We share His love by sending disciples into ministry (service). This happens when we send people as far away as Novgorod, Russia or as close as the Marion House soup Kitchen.

If you’re searching for a group of people who accept you where you are and challenge you to grow into a reflection of God’s love, “Welcome” to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Enjoy the fellowship, compassion, and spirituality of the people called St. Paul’s.
