Professing members of St. Paul’s UMC vow to support our church through our prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. This vow reminds us that, as disciples of Jesus Christ, we are dedicating our entire self to the lifelong spiritual journey of loving God with our heart, mind, soul, and strength and others as ourselves.(Mark 12: 29-31)
An important part of our membership commitment is financial giving to the ministries of St. Paul’s UMC. There are many ways to give:
· Tithing: The foundation of our church giving is the tithe. Tithing is the biblical standard for giving and means sharing 10% of one’s income to support the ministry of the local church. If it is not possible to give 10%, we suggest determining a specific percentage of income to give and then increasing a percentage or two every year until the full tithe is met.
· Offerings: After giving a tithe, many people like to contribute to special project or offering to support a specific ministry.
· Memorial Giving: Giving to St. Paul’s in honor or memory of a loved one is a wonderful way to remember a special person in your life by supporting the ministry of your church family.
St. Paul’s UMC tries to assist you in your ministry of giving by:
· Celebration campaign: Every autumn St. Paul’s UMC has a special worship service dedicated to remembering God’s blessings and indicating our financial gifts for the year to come.
· Offering envelopes: We mail offering envelopes to interested church members to help them give systematically.
· Electronic giving: A convenient way to give is to arrange to have your offering automatically deducted from your bank account and transferred to St. Paul’s UMC. If you wish to make use of this service, download the form from this page, complete it, attach a voided check and drop it off at the church office.
